High-quality catalogue production for the European market
The large-scale production of Hans catalogues required precision, flexibility and state-of-the-art technology. With multiple language versions specially adapted for different European markets, this annual project placed high demands on our expertise in mass production, diverse finishing options and smooth logistical implementation.
Web and sheetfed offset printing for maximum efficiency
To ensure cost-efficient and high-quality production, we combined web and sheetfed offset printing. Large print runs were produced using heatset web offset printing, which provided pre-folded sheets for further processing. This reduced processing time and increased efficiency. Smaller print runs for selected markets, on the other hand, were printed on our Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses to ensure optimal cost control – without compromising on quality. Regardless of the printing method, all catalogues met our high quality standards and were delivered on time.
Adaptation to different language versions
Each language version required a separate printing plate change. This method guaranteed consistent colour quality and seamless adaptation to different markets. To avoid confusion between the versions, our production team implemented strict quality controls. In addition, we integrated individual barcodes for each language version during the pre-press stage, which were automatically checked during the adhesive binding process to ensure correct section allocation.
Hardcover and softcover options with advanced finishing features
To meet specific market requirements, we offered both hardcover and softcover (adhesive binding) versions. To improve user-friendliness, the catalogues included a multi-level index punch system that enabled quick navigation through different product categories. This customisation contributed to an optimal user experience and gave the end product a particularly high-quality look and feel.
