At the beginning of April, Sven Burkhard, CEO of Elanders Print & Packaging, introduced the new strategy for Elanders.
As part of an internal company celebration under the motto “One Team – One Brand – One Company,” the new corporate strategy of Elanders Print & Packaging in Germany was presented on April 1st. The new concept includes four so-called Business Units, which are made up of the following areas: Print on Demand/Mass Customization, Packaging, Publishing Solutions, and Innovative Print Products.

Since the acquisition of Schmid Druck GmbH in Kaisheim in 2016 and Schätzl Druck & Medien GmbH in Donauwörth in 2021, the companies have operated as three independent brands alongside Elanders Germany GmbH in Waiblingen. In the future, the focus will no longer be on individual locations but instead on cross-functional expert teams that span departments and sites.

“For our customers, it ultimately doesn’t matter where the production takes place,” says Sven Burkhard in an interview. “What matters is being advised with the right expertise and having the appropriate specialists at their side to meet their specific needs.”

As part of this restructuring, the new corporate design under which Elanders Print & Packaging will operate in the future was also introduced. This includes, among other things, four new logos and color schemes for the newly established business units.

The merger of the companies and their unified external appearance is also strengthening cohesion within the organization. The company’s new vision is now “Print-On-Demand Worldwide.” Based on this, Elanders Print & Packaging is aiming to expand into high-growth markets — opening up new target audiences while also creating synergies for existing business areas.

“After an in-depth analysis of our strengths and with a clear goal to play a central role in the fields of Mass Customization, Packaging, Publishing, and Innovative Products, we made a strategic decision to focus on these business units,” says CEO Sven Burkhard.
“Our ambition is to be the best in each of our target markets. And already today, we can proudly say that we’re among the leaders in these areas. We firmly believe that, in the future, only companies pursuing this level of excellence will truly succeed.”

The transformation requires not only optimizing what we produce, but also how we produce it — in a fully digital context.
Key questions arise: How will customers place their orders in the future? How will files be delivered to our machines?
The seamless interaction between hardware and software — including file transfer via API interfaces — will become a crucial competitive advantage.

As part of the rebranding of the three companies, a new corporate website has been launched: www.elanders-print.com, showcasing the four new business units. A new social media strategy will also be rolled out in the coming weeks and months.

In an interview about the restructuring, Sven Burkhard also emphasized how proud he is of all the employees at Elanders, Schätzl, and Schmid. He is particularly pleased that everyone is working together and recognizes the purpose behind the company-wide transformation.

Elanders Print & Packaging is currently looking for support in the areas of IT, printing, post-press operations, and administration. If you’re interested in joining a modern, future-oriented company, we look forward to receiving your application via our website:
